| Description |
English: First main rapid on the Upper Coquet. About a mile and a half below 1189812, the road crosses from right to left bank. Just over two hundred metres below that, this short series of rapids is the first significant obstacle met on the descent of the river. Behind the kayaker just seal launching in the background after a bank inspection, is a little drop with an awkward shallow approach from behind the outcrop river left. The main drop, seen here on a Swaledale Outdoor Club meet when we had quite a nice level, has a tendency to kick river right in the little stopper, especially at lower levels when it is quite narrow and the paddler doesn't have so much speed to boof. |
