Title |
Fish Fossil |
||
Description |
English: The fossilled remains of a Lepidotes (fish). Dating to the Lower Cretaceous period (circa. 130 million years ago). The fish’s scales are clearly visible on the fossil. The fossilled scales from the other side of the fish also remain lock inside the fossil (the can still be seen in section). This shows that this fish was flattened, during the fossilisation process. Some of the fish’s ribs are also evident between the two layers of scales. |
