Summary edit
DescriptionFleam Dyke Pumping Station, steam engine - geograph.org.uk - 1768857.jpg |
English: Fleam Dyke Pumping Station, steam engine. This was one of two large horizontal tandem compound pumping engines by Hathorn, Davey of Leeds and built in 1920. They were retired in 1976 and scrapped without warning in 1983. Some would regard this as wanton vandalism.
I found myself here with only four shots in the camera and pretty indifferent they were too. The building still survives - 1017123. |
