U.S. Army Sgt. Adam Nielsen, an infantry team leader with Company A, 1st Battalion, 133rd Infantry Regiment, from Cedar Falls, Iowa, front, U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Neil Taylor, a joint terminal attack controller from Peoria, Ill., with the 169th Air Support Operations Squadron, center, and U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Nick McLaughlin, a psychological operations team leader with the 1322nd Tactical Psychological Operations Team from St. Paul, Minn., rear, come to a halt as they cautiously head toward the village of Shebatkyl, Afghanistan Feb. 2. The last time the soldiers of Company A attempted to go to the village, they fought their way through an ambush of enemy forces firing machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades from multiple directions on the surrounding mountains. This time, the soldiers were able to enter the village and talk with the people there. First Bn., 133rd Inf.
