SAN DIEGO (July 10, 2012) Navy Diver 2nd Class Dustin Bigby, assigned to Southwest Regional Maintenance Center, conducts a pre-dive equipment check before performing underwater hull maintenance on the amphibious assault ship USS Boxer (LHD 4). Southwest Regional Maintenance Center is the largest shore based intermediate maintenance activity and the second largest ship repair facility in the Southwestern United States, providing intermediate level maintenance support to more than 100 surface ships and submarines of the U.S. Pacific Fleet and U.S. Coast Guard.
