PACIFIC OCEAN (Sept. 29, 2012) Operations Specialist 3rd Class Ryan Comtois, a search and rescue swimmer aboard the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Cowpens (CG 63), communicates with Sailors as they lower a rigid-hull inflatable boat from the port side boat deck. Cowpens is part of the George Washington Carrier Strike Group, the U.S. Navy’s only forward deployed carrier strike group based out of Yokosuka, Japan and is currently conducting a routine Western Pacific patrol.
