Summary edit

Description

attributed to Giovanni Andrei, 1814 or 1815

Only some remains of the Corinthian colonnade remained in the House Chamber after the British burned the Capitol in 1814 during the War of 1812. Long poles were used to prevent the entablature from falling to the floor.
