Summary edit

Description

Eriogonum pyrolifolium (Dirty Socks) was the only plant I observed near Crater Glacier

Polygonaceae family "knotweed family" 2100 meters (6900 feet), near face of Crater Glacier, Mount St Helens, Washington, USA

Crater Glacier is a rapidly growing glacier that formed in the crater of Mount St Helens after the 19680 eruption. The 2004 eruption altered this glacier significantly. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crater_Glacier

This was a great hike into the crater of Mount St Helens , guided by Mount St. Helens Institute. It was most interesting to get a close look at the geology and ecology of Mount St Helens
