Description

The church was relocated to its present site after the previous structure was destroyed by a tidal wave in 1735. Manuel L. Quezon, the first president of the Philippine Commonwealth, was baptized in the church in 1878 that was also the site of the last Spanish resistance in the Philippines. The footsteps going out of the church represents that of Quezon's and leads to a quaint nipa house where he was born.
