DescriptionForaine brick es.jpg	Español: Diferencia entre un ladrillo "foraine" y un ladrillo estándar. El ladrillo "foraine" es el material de construcción tradicional utilizado en la región de Toulouse (Francia) desde al menos el siglo XI. Este nombre vendría del latín "foraneus", que significa "que viene de otra parte", porque los ladrillos "foraine" se fabricaban originalmente en un una fábrica de ladrillos y no en la propia obra (eran de mejor calidad). En el siglo XIX, el nombre utilizado seguía siendo "forane", no "foraine", lo que tiende a apoyar la teoría de un origen latino. Este vocablo, que solía indicaba la calidad de los ladrillos, se ha convertido en un vocablo genérico para todos los ladrillos de este formato procedentes de la región de Toulouse. Esto explica por qué la traducción literal "ladrillo de feria", para el francés "brique foraine", no parece apropiada y no se utiliza aquí.
