English: Former Explosives Store, Belmont Ironstone Mine This concrete bunker was where the explosives used in the mining operations were kept; well away from the main buildings. Although now blocked up the explosives were kept in an inner compartment and the doors in the outer and inner walls were offset so that in the event of an explosion the blast would be directed upwards and not through the two doors. |
