Summary edit

Description
English: Former Kilbarry railway yard, Cork
Kilbarry was used as a temporary terminus of the line from Dublin to Cork (1849/55) pending completion of the Glanmire Tunnel (1,355 yds) at the entrance to Cork station. In later years it was the site of a goods yard. By the time of the photo the yard had closed and was used to store withdrawn wagons pending sale or scrapping. See W6774 : Train at Kilbarry cabin (July 1987) and W6773 : Train at Kilbarry (July 1989) for other views of the railway in the immediate area.
