| Description |
English: Former Megabowl building, Newport Located in Newport Retail Park, Megabowl opened in 1990 and ceased trading on August 22nd 2005. Attractions included 10-pin bowling alleys and a bar. The building at the date of this image (early August 2009) was empty with no sign of renovation or conversion work. Speculation at the time of its closure included the suggestion that the size of the leisure market in the Newport area was too small to sustain Megabowl after the novelty had worn off.
Update January 2010 : A notice displayed on the building states that Johnsey Estates(1990) Ltd have applied for planning permission to convert the premises into retail units. |
