English: Former Montague Burton Store, Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. Built in the 1930s and situated on the corner of Saturday Market and Toll Gavel. A common feature of these menswear shops was the provision of snooker rooms on the upper floors. For another example, at Hessle, see TA0827 : Old Montague Burton Shop on Hessle Road. Interesting to see that this one is still trading under the Burton name. |
