Description
English: Former approach to Birkenhead Woodside railway station as seen from Church Street, Birkenhead, Merseyside, England. Looking in the direction away from the station where railway tracks previously ran into the now bricked up half-mile long tunnel. The station itself was was formerly a terminus of a Great Western Railway main line from London Paddington and was closed due to the Beeching Axe in 1967. The locality is still served by frequent local rail services on the Merseyrail network at the nearby Hamilton Square railway station.
