Description There were only four external lines into the public telephone network. Soldiers who wanted to call home, had to call from a station in the fortress, and have been connected here. The fortress Kastels at Mels had in this time already a more modern telephone system. Military fortress «Furggels» above Pfäfers, St. Margrethenberg, Switzerland, Sep 25, 2010.
