Summary edit

Description
English: Fort Hartsuff, located north-northwest of Elyria in rural Valley County, Nebraska. Partly visible in left foreground, stables. Behind and to the right of them, dark wood building containing blacksmith and carpenter shops. Behind and to the right of that, in about the center of the photo, quartermaster's storehouse. Behind and to the right of that, and behind the white fence, barracks. Further right, behind flagpole, modern restroom building. The first building to the right of the flagpole, and the farthest back, is the post headquarters. To the right of and in front of that, with a prominent chimney, is the laundress's and baker's quarters. There was no sign to indicate the identity of the small building in front of that.
