Description
English: Homes located in the hills of Fort Portal, Uganda are usually constructed with stones and soil unlike bricks and cement. This is due to the hilly roads which make it hard to transport building materials. The main source of energy is solar energy that is used to power most houses in the area. Agriculture is the main source of income and most homes participate in tree planting and also have plantations of matooke. Due to the hilly terrain, homes are far apart from each other hence a sparse populated area of the Fort Portal hills.
