Notes
  • Significance: The Officer's Quarters was one of three identical houses constructed in 1857 as part of the Officer's Row at Fort Simcoe. Together with the Commanding Officer's Quarters, these four buildings defined the west side of the parade ground. The Officer's Quarters was designed by Louis Scholl, a clerk and draftsman at Fort Dalles, in the style of the "Country Houses" popularized in the publications of Andrew Jackson Downing. Built of wood frame construction, the building was intended to a captain and his family.
