English: Four U.S. Navy Douglas AD-6 Skyraider (BuNo 134506, 135396, 137505, 139731) of Attack Squadron 176 (VA-176) "Thunderbolts" in flight, circa in 1959. VA-176 was assigned to Carrier Air Group 10 (CVG-10) aboard the aircraft carrier USS Essex (CVA-9), visible in the background, for a deployment to Mediterranean Sea from 7 August 1959 to 26 February 1960. The A-1H 139731 was lost in North Vietnam on 14 October 1966 while in service with VA-152. 135396 and 137505 were transferred to the South Vietnamese Air Force. |
