Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui & Eastman - Fractus V Nederlands: Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui vertrok voor ‘Fractus V’ vanuit ‘Fractus’, een kort danstrio dat hij creëerde n.a.v. het veertigjarig bestaan van het Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch. Daarin zocht Cherkaoui naar primaire bewegingen, op de rand van het tribale en de folklore. Een tekst van Noam Chomsky onderstreepte tegelijk de breuk tussen het individu en de kennismaatschappij. ‘Fractus V’ wordt gebracht door vijf mannelijke dansers met een andere nationaliteit en achtergrond, inclusief de choreograaf zelf. Hun dansopleiding is heel divers: van lindy hop over flamenco tot hiphop en breakdance. Zij belichamen het ‘anders zijn’ dat leidt tot gewelddadige conflicten. Toch is er hoop: uiteindelijk zullen de dansers zich verenigen tot één weerbaar lichaam. Een meer dan ooit actuele dansvoorstelling! Français : Pour « Fractus V », Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui est parti de sa pièce de danse « Fractus », un bref trio créé à l'occasion des quarante ans du Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch. Cherkaoui y recherchait des mouvements primaires, à la limite des univers tribaux et du folklore. En même temps, un texte de Noam Chomsky soulignait la rupture de l'individu avec la société du savoir. « Fractus V » est interprété par cinq danseurs de nationalités et origines différentes, dont le chorégraphe lui-même. La formation en danse suivie par les cinq interprètes est très diverse, allant du lindy hop au hip-hop et à la break dance, en passant par le flamenco. Ils incarnent « l'altérité », à l'origine de conflits violents. Et pourtant, il y a de l'espoir : pour finir, les danseurs s'unissent pour former un corps unique capable de résister. Un spectacle plus actuel que jamais ! English: As his starting point for ‘Fractus V’, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui took ‘Fractus’, a short dance trio that he created to celebrate the fortieth anniversary of Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch. In it, Cherkaoui searched for new primary movements on the peripheries of the tribal and folkloric. At the same time, a text by Noam Chomsky underlined the rupture between the individual and the knowledge society. ‘Fractus V’ is performed by five male dancers with different nationalities and backgrounds, including the choreographer himself. Their dance training is highly diverse, ranging from lindy hop to flamenco, hip hop and breakdance. They embody the ‘otherness’ that leads to violent conflicts. And yet there is hope: ultimately the dancers will unite to form a single resilient body. A dance performance that is more topical than ever! |
