Notes | Considered as one of the oldest, if not the earliest wooden cult statue preserved in the Polish Christian lands. Type of the enthroned Madonna and Child (Throne of Wisdom - Sedes Sapientiae) with a polygonal hole for relics at the back. The term derives from the early medieval liturgy and homiletics - the idea of the Virgin as the throne of the Incarnate Logos - God's Wisdom. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
