Description
English: Statue of Francis E. Spinner a Representative from New York, German Flats, Herkimer County in 1802. He was elected as a Democrat to the Thirty-fourth Congress and as a Republican to the Thirty-fifth and Thirty-sixth Congresses from Mar 1855 to 1861. He was appointed by President Lincoln as Treasurer of the United States and served from 1861, until his resignation on July 1st, 1875. He successfully urged the employment of women in the Treasury Department.

He died in December 31st, 1890. At the bottom of the stone plaque one can observe Francis e. Spinner's signature which appeared on a Civil War greenbacks .

The statue is located a Myers Park in Herkimer, NYS.
