He stayed on until the early hours of the following day to meet the crews of No. 467 (Lancaster) Squadron RAAF after they had taken part in the big attack on the synthetic oil plant at Lutzkendorf, Germany. Belford, pilot, of West Leederville, WA, is telling Mr Forde how his Lancaster evaded two enemy fighters which, for five minutes attacked the bomber as it was beginning its bombing run.
