Description
English: 3. Geistpförtchen (Little Spirit Gate) (Heiliggeistpförtchen [Holy Spirit Gate]) as seen from the outside and from the bank of the Main. The interior view shows the surroundings drawn according to nature, to the left the facade of the Church of the Holy Spirit and the hospital, to the right the houses of which some yet exist. The Gate itself has been presumably reconstructed in this view. The view from the Main is according to a pen drawing by J. B. Reißer in the Gerning Collection (1771). The gate was torn down in 1797.
Deutsch: 3. Geistpförtchen (Heiliggeistpförtchen), von der Innenseite und vom Mainufer aus gesehen. Bei der Innenansicht ist die Umgebung nach der Natur gezeichnet, links die Facade der Heiliggeistkirche und des Spitals, rechts die zum Teil noch stehenden Häuser. Die Pforte selbst ist bei dieser Ansicht mutmaßlich ergänzt. Die Mainansicht ist nach einer Federzeichnung von J. B. Reißer in der Gerning'schen Sammlung (1771). Die Pforte wurde 1797 abgebrochen.
