Jahrhunderts bereits ebenfalls von der Stadt genutzt, die Paulsgasse und das Stadgericht am Paulsplatz, Scan der Offsetwiedergabe einer Fotografie von Carl Friedrich Fay vor 1900.

Das Bild zeigt diesen Abschnitt der heutigen Bethmannstraße noch in seinem Zustand vor 1900, was an dem rechts im Bild stehenden Archivturm (1436 - 1437 erbaut, 1732 im Dachbereich barock verändert) des Hauses Frauenrode, dem Fertsch-Finger'schen Haus sowie dem Stadtgericht zu erkennen ist. Sie wurden ab 1900 zugunsten des historistischen Rathausneubaus abgerissen, die Römergasse aufgegeben und die Paulsgasse zur Bethmannstraße verbreitert. Abzüglich der Kriegsschäden im Dachbereich hat sich von dem, was im Bild zu sehen ist, nur die 1731 unter Jakob Samhammer entstandene Nordfassade des Goldenen Schwans bis in die Gegenwart erhalten.

Urheberrechtliche Ansprüche sind definitiv erloschen, da der Urheber, Carl Friedrich Fay, 1918 verstarb und somit über 70 Jahre tot ist.
