Abbrucharbeiten an der westlichen Rückseite des Römers an der Gasse Hinter dem Römer. Links im Bild das gotische Steinhaus Viole mit Zinnenkranz und Walmdach, in der Mitte der zurückspringende Innenhof, der das Gebäude vom rechts gelegenen Haus Schwarzenfels trennt. Durch die Abbrucharbeiten ist hier das barock (veränderte?) Fachwerk dokumentiert, gut zu sehen ebenfalls der typische Frankfurter Giebel mit Verschieferung und Nase. Die Ruinen im Bildvordergrund sowie der Standpunkt des Fotografen dürfte der bereits niedergelegten Clesernhof darstellen, der sich westlich des Römers bis zur Karpfengasse erstreckte. Urheberrechtliche Ansprüche sind definitiv erloschen, da der Urheber, Carl Andreas Abt, 1922 verstarb und somit über 70 Jahre tot ist.
