Deutsch: Frankfurt am Main: Roßmarkt 13, von Norden gesehen. 1904 begonnen vom Architekt und späteren Manager von Philipp Holzmann Hellmut Cuno (1867-1951); Geschäftshaus für das Textileinzelhandelsunternehmen Schwarzschild & Ochs, Berlin und Frankfurt am Main (Samt- und Seidenwarengroßhandel), Frankfurt am Main, Rossmarkt 13. Um 1912 begann hier kurzzeitig Hans Albers ein kaufmännische Lehre, die er aber bald wieder abbrach. Gründung des Stammhauses Schwarzschild & Ochs erfolgt bereits um 1767 in Frankfurt am Main. 1922 wurde sie zur Aktiengesellschaft “Schwarzschild-Ochs AG” (Sitz: Rossmarkt 13), Veredelung und Vertrieb von Textilien, insbesondere Samt- und Seidenstoffen. Eigentümer waren Alfred und Eduard Schwarzschild und Berthold Strauss, die auch eine Tochtergesellschaft in England betrieben. 1937 musste Geschäft am Roßmarkt verkauft werden. Die Arisierung erzwang auch den Verkauf der Aktien weit unter Nennwert. 1940 erfolgte die Umfirmierung zur SETAG Aktiengesellschaft für Seide mit Sitzverlegung nach Berlin. Der Fabrikant Paul Rott war Aufsichtsratvorsitzender, Teilhaber der Schoeller & Co. Elektrotechnische Fabrik GmbH, Mörfelder Landstraße 117-119, Frankfurt am Main-Süd, sowie Mitglied des AR verschiedener Industriegesellschaften, Senator h.c. der Technischen Hochschule Karlsruhe. Die SETAG AG für Seide erlosch 1956. Da Gebäude Roßmarkt 13 brannte 1944 durch Fliegerbomben total aus. Teilweise Wiederherstellung mit Stilangleichung nach Kriegsende. 2010/11 erfolgte erneute Sanierung mit modifiziertem Dachgeschoss. Auch das rechte Nachbarhaus des Bauherrn Carl C. Junior, erbaut um 1904 von den Architekten Josef Rindsfüßer und Martin Kühl, wurde im Krieg zerstört und nur teilweise formgerecht wieder errichtet. Vorher stand hier der Englische Hof, bzw. das Hotel d'Angleterre des Gastwirts/Hotelier Lippert, erbaut 1797 vom französischen Architekten Salins de Monfort. |
