Frederick C. Olney, a well known colored lawyer, prominent member of the Washington county bar, died at his home in Wakefield Tuesday afternoon after a long sickness. He was born in Wakefield July 16. 1S62. son of the late Giles P. and Betsy Brewster Olney. He was educated in the public schools, later studied and was admitted to the bar, being in general practice ever since. He was once active in republican politics and wielded much influence in sections of Washington and Kent counties. His only near relatives are his aunt, Mrs. Rose Watson. of Wakefield, and a cousin, Miss Emma Watson, of Providence.
