French cooky from puff pastra with Marmalade; Une « paille », spécialité nantaise ayant donnée naissance au « Pailles d'or » de LU qui n'ont pourtant rien à voir. La « paille » est formée de deux pâtes feuilletées (surtout pas de pâte phyllo), uniquement au beurre 1/2 sel (surtout pas de margarine, à la limite du beurre doux) entre lesquelles il y a une confiture de fraise, de framboise ou d'abricot, le tout saupoudré de sucre glace. Un régal ! Les « Pailles d'or » de LU n'ont plus grand chose à voir puisqu'il s'agit d'une pâte gaufrée très fine.

A "straw", specialty of Nantes. The "straw" consists of two puff pastries made with 'half-salted' butter (never use margarin, unsalted butter is permitted); between them is spread a strawberry jam, raspberry or apricot, all powdered with sugar ice. A feast! "Golden straws" from LU (french industrial bakeries) were initially inspired from it, but their recipe presently differ too much from the real original cookie.
