DescriptionFrom the Archives Fall 2010 North Shore Camping Trip - Superior Entry (5215093470).jpg |
I don't know why I didn't post these, but back in September when I camped along the North Shore, we stopped in Duluth and hiked along Park Point all the way to the Superior Entry. It was a gorgeous day, so I took that opportunity to photograph the Superior Entry lighthouse. It is a beautiful structure, but it is not easy to get to, so it is not photographed nearly as often as the others along the North Shore of Lake Superior. The design of this lighthouse is interesting to me as the keeper's quarters were integrated into the lighthouse itself, even though it would have been quite easy to put a keeper's house on the shore, which was just a few hundred yards walk down the pier. |
