Fumigation apparatus described thus: Take the tin-box lamp and light with a wax taper, and the best oil ... which place in the lower chamber of the earthen retort. Place the earthen cup over the burner, in which put some sand, and place the glass cup in it; pour in the vinegar, or any other liquid with which you wish to impregnate the air, and cover the whole with the earthen top.
