English: A New Map of Mexico, California & Oregon. Published by J.A.& U.P. James, Cincinnati. 1848
Description
English: Private Furber's map shows many cities, towns, and roads in the "theatre of war" -- not just those traversed by his own unit, Co. G ("The Eagle Guards")of the First Regiment, Tennessee Mounted Infantry, as part of the Division under Major General Robert Patterson. This same map also appeared in John T. Hughes, Doniphan's Expedition (Cincinnati: J. A. & U. P. James, 1848). A similar version of the map with the tagline "Published by J. A. & U.P. James 1850" and showing the "Boundary of 1848" appeared in George C. Furber, The Twelve Months Volunteer… (Cincinnati: J. A. & U.P. James, 1850).
