Notes
  • Significance: By 1882 it had been decided to reserve ground at the center of the site for a memorial to Home founder William Enston. The earliest plans called simply for a statue, but in 1888 the city of Charleston funded construction of the two-story Memorial Hall. Featured here is a bronze bust of Enston by noted sculptor Edward Valentine.
  • Unprocessed Field note material exists for this structure: N231
