Summary edit

Description

VBA151S - Northern Counties-bodied Leyland Atlantean, new in January 1978 to Greater Manchester Transport (GMT) as 8151 and was originally based in Stockport when it was new.

It also spent a spell at Tameside (TE), Frederick Road in Salford (FK), Princess Road (PS), Hindley (HY), Leigh (LH) and finally to Atherton (AN).

It was later renumbered as 4151 by the around 1992-onwards.

Atherton closed in February 1998 and this beauty was withdrawn by First Manchester (trading as Greater Manchester by then, FirstGroup PLC took over GM Buses North in 1996) and passed to St Helens Transport Museum before being acquired by the GM Buses Group.

It's preserved in withdrawn but roadworthy conditon and hopefully it will be fully restored back to its original conditon.

B65 PJA - Northern Counties-bodied Leyland Olympian, new in November 1984 to GMT as 3065 and was first based at Birchfields Road near Longsight (BS), it later moved to Altrincham whne Birchfields closed in 1986 and then to Stockport between 1991 and 2000 (when Altrincham closed in November 1991).

It spent its final five years at Hyde Road when it was repainted into the Magic Bus livery, withdrawn in early 2005 it was acquired by the Museum of Transport.

Both seen at the Deregulation 25 event outside the Museum of Transport on Saturday 22nd October
