Description
English: GPO marker post, Halifax Road, Dewsbury This is from the days when the telephone system was run by the General Post Office, and indicates an inspection chamber in the footway six feet away. It is interesting that the arrow motif has been used, as on benchmarks, military boundary stones and traditional convicts' clothes.
