Description
English: Gaia has a rotation period of 6 hours, and it is at a fixed angle of 45 degrees with respect to the Sun. The spin axis precesses around the direction of the Sun following the 45-degree cone’s face. This way, the sunshield keeps the payload in permanent shadow.
