An automatic irriga-tion with weak carbolized water wasarranged so as not to require con-stant attention. Some sloughing occurred in thescrotal flaps, and for the purpose ofclosing it, the third operation wasmade Feb. 24th, the 75th day. Onthe 27th, or the 3rd day from thisoperation, he had been 50 hours inwater. Not much constitutional disturbancefollowed, but some additional slough-ing occurred. March 7th, or the 89th day, he was sittingup. March 22nd, or the 104th day, the fourthoperation was made to close the fistulous open-ing in the scrotal flap occasioned by previoussloughing. Fig. 4.

The testicles are supported by a scrotumof greatly reduced size, so that they aremuch less in the way of the urinal whichhe now wears with much more comfortthan before the operation. His urine isnow entirely collected while in the erectposture. The cicatrization is not yet completeover the portion of the abdomen fromwhich the great central flap was taken inthe first operation. It was found impossible to reduce thesupply of opium to any great degree whileunder surgical treatment
