| Description |
Gallen, County Offaly, Ireland English: Early monastic site at Gallen which was excavated by Kendrick in 1934–1935. Two walls were erected at the east and west end at the site on the foundations of a church of the 11th to 13th century. In these walls, a selection of the slabs found during the excavations were embedded. In this photograph, the east wall is to be seen. |
