Description
English: Guardsman of the Norwegian Royal Guards (Norwegian: Hans Majestet Kongens Garde) outside the Royal Palace in Oslo. Photo taken by the Norwegian photo company Steen Henriksen & Steen in 1939, showing a soldier dressed in traditional uniform with plumed Bersaglieri bowler hat, a sentry box, an outdoor lamp, etc.
Norsk bokmål: Gardist (gardesoldater, skiltvakt) i Hans Majestet Kongens Garde, bevæpnet og i full uniform, på Slottsplassen utenfor Det kongelige slottet i Oslo. Bildet viser blant annet skilderhus, lampe og deler av slottsfasaden med relieffer. Foto tatt i 1939 av fotofirmaet Henriksen & Steen og kopiert fra bildesamlinga i Nasjonalbiblioteket.
  • Gardens paradeuniform består av bukser med to hvite beiser (breie render eller striper), jakke med epåletter (skulderklaffer), passepoil (innsydd kant eller rand langs sømmen) og doble tresser (galoner, dekorative bånd) på ståkragen og på de spisse ermeoppslagene (mansjettene). Den svarte bowlerhatten med brei brem er inspirert av det tradisjonelle hodeplagget til italiensk lett infanteri (Bersaglieri, bergjegere). Hatten har hakereim, fjærbusk av svart bøffelhår og kongemonogram (navnesiffer) på kokarden foran.
