Summary edit
DescriptionGate to the open mountainside - geograph.org.uk - 655895.jpg |
English: Gate to the open mountainside Climbing the steep path up Cwm Bwch we passed through woodland which is going back to nature. There were ancient stools of coppiced trees, hazel: ash and alder were most evident. The gate once gave access to the open mountain for farmers of these slopes. Now the track up is hardly needed and is merely a footpath. After taking the photo I looked right and discovered a ruined cottage almost hidden among the trees. |
