DescriptionGates to the Hall - geograph.org.uk - 510201.jpg |
English: Gates to the Hall Pass through these gates and you are on the way to one of the most remarkable buildings in North Norfolk - Melton Constable Hall, once the home of Lord Hastings and the Astley family. It was built in the mid-17th century and the extensive grounds were designed by Capability Brown. For many years the hall was neglected but has recently been converted into luxury apartments. These gates and bollards were the subject of a dispute over planning permission with local residents during 2006. |
