Description
Italiano: Esemplare maschio del crostaceo macruro Gebia littoralis RISSO,1816 accettata come Upogebia pusilla (PETAGNA, 1792) che porta sul lato destro del cefalo-torace il tumore dovuto alla presenza, sotto il carapace, del parassita Gyge branchialis CORNALIA & PANCERI, 1861, nuova specie di malacrostaceo bopiride, fondata da Emilio Cornalia (1824-1882) e da Paolo Panceri (1833-1877). Il parassita fu rinvenuto per la prima volta, nel 1858, nella laguna veneta, attaccato con la sua superficie dorsale, alla superficie convessa delle branchie di G. littoralis e con la superficie ventrale applicata a quella interna e concava del guscio dell’esemplare parassitato.
