Description
Deutsch: Das große rechteckige Epitaph ist schlicht gehalten. In dem breiten Rahmenband findet sich umlaufend die Memorialinschrift für Georg Wolf von Woellwarth (A). Der Rahmen inklusive der Inschrift nimmt knapp ein Viertel des Epitaphs ein. Auf der planen Innentafel steht im oberen Drittel als Trauervers ein Text aus dem Buch der Offenbarung

(Offb. 14,13 [B]). In der Mitte das Allianzwappen mit seiner Frau Anna, geb. von Fleckenstein, und im unteren Drittel als Memento mori die oft genutzte Wendung von Hodie mihi (C).

„Hodie mihi, cras tibi“ findet sich seit dem Spätmittelalter als Redewendung auf zahllosen Epitaphien als Mahnung bezüglich der eigenen Sterblichkeit.
