Description The Deutsch-Amerikanische Schuetzen Gesellschaft ("German-American Shooting Society") at 12 St. Marks Place (8th Street) in the East Village, Manhattan, New York City, was the clubhouse for a German-American marksmen's club - alhough they did their shooting elsewhere. The building, which says Einigkeit macht stark ("Unity is strength") in the crest at the top, was designed by WIlliam C. Frohne and built in 1885. {AIA Guide to NYC 4th ed.)
