Summary edit

Description
English: Unblocking the Somme. On the left of the picture is the raised, man-made wall of the river with soldiers standing on top. The river cuts across the image with two soldiers standing in it. The men are dwarfed by the mound of debris which dominates the right side of the picture.

It is likely that the chteau referred to was Caulaincourt, and that this was a typing error.
[Original reads: 'GREAT BRITISH ADVANCE IN THE WEST. The Germans destroy the beautiful Chatrau [sic] of Caulincourt and blew it into the Somme and our men made a passage for the water.']
