Description
English: Detail of a view of Maastricht, the Netherlands, from Mount Saint Peter, in 1673. The Brussels painter Adam Frans van der Meulen followed in the train of the French troops during the Siege of Maastricht by Louis XIV. He used this sketch for his paintings of this famous siege. Here the western ramparts and the church towers of St. Servatius' and St. John's.
