English: Two ghost ramps near City Square, Charlestown, seen in July 2021. Both were used around 2000 during the Big Dig. In the foreground is the ramp from the westbound Tobin Bridge to Rutherford Avenue, with an abandoned stub that formerly led to I-93 northbound. Behind is a ramp from Rutherford Avenue to to I-93 southbound, with an abandoned stub that also formerly led to I-93 northbound. The two ramps were built in the early 1990s during construction of the City Square Tunnel and were removed around 2004. |
