Description
English: Most spectacular local species is red tingle (Eucalyptus jacksonii) - giant eucalipt. This tree is over 22m in circumference and over 6m diameter. While bushfires have left the internal walls of the trunk black, the tree has survived over 400 years.

This tree is found almost exclusively in Walpole-Nornalup National Park and is a relic of former tropical forests. The Red Tingle Tree has well adapted to local conditions. It grows in area with a comparatively high rainfall (up to 1,300 mm per annum) and frequent Bushfires.
