NPS/Patrick Myers Pictured is a girl connecting with a special part of Great Sand Dunes' cultural heritage - one of the 200 living ponderosa pines around the dunes that were peeled for food and medicine by American Indian tribes. "Indian Grove" is on the National Register of Historic Places - the only grove of trees on the register.
